Mindfulness In Society

How can mindfulness be used in meditation, politics, education and business?

Participants explored this question at a conference on September 8, 2018, presented by Tufts Health Freedom Plan in partnership with NHTI, Concord’s Community College; and yoga 4 classrooms®.

A panel of nationally known speakers included: Sharon Salzberg, a central figure in the field of meditation, a world-renowned teacher and New York Times best-selling author; Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio; Charlie Hartwell, a change agent who shepherds ideas, resources and talent to drive global sustainable growth; and others.

Mindfulness helps people succeed academically and professionally, thrive at a personal level, live satisfying lives, and connect with themselves and others. Practicing mindfulness can reduce hate, resentment, and misunderstanding, as well as increase compassion, understanding, and cooperation.

NHTI now offers a mindful communication certificate, which makes students more marketable across a broad range of fields, including information technology, healthcare, business, education, and human services.
